Yesterday, Wednesday, the Digital Development Center participated in the activities of the SAMENA Accelerator Program, which is sponsored by a number of international and leading companies in the Information and Communications Technology sector.
Huawei was one of the sponsors of the program, in addition to Zain, Saudi Telecom Company (stc), and Teletimes International.
The program was attended by representatives from international organizations such as SAMENA, ITU and RIPE NCC, representatives from governmental organizations from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and Senegal, and representatives from private sector companies and independent institutions such as stc, Mobily, Smart Africa and Benya Group, in addition to a representative from the Center for Digital Development.
The program focused on key areas, foremost being the acceleration of widespread use of fiber-based communications networks. The program highlighted mechanisms of rapid transition to the sixth version of the Internet Protocol (IPv6+) because of its many benefits, including high quality (Quality of Service) and automatic support for privacy security, ease of use and distribution, high capacity of connected devices, and wide use of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and more.
